New Affordable Homes at Hazel strengthen solid foundations with Homes by honey
Auxesia Homes has finalised its second project with Yorkshire-based housing provider, Homes by honey, acquiring some 18 properties, part of the Hazel development in Matlock, Derbyshire.
About the development
Surrounded by beautiful countryside on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and only a short distance from Matlock, this scheme brings to market 18 much-needed affordable homes, continuing Auxesia’s mission to create quality, energy efficient housing for local communities.
Placemaking
Within the 18 homes, four are available through Shared Ownership — providing an affordable route onto the property ladder — while the remaining 14 homes are designated for affordable rent, ensuring accessibility and long-term affordability.
The mix of homes includes one-bedroom apartments with their own private entrance and two-bedroom houses, offering a variety of options to suit a range of residents, from individuals to small families.
Working together
The Hazel scheme further strengthens the foundations of a strong working partnership between Auxesia Homes and Homes by honey through a shared commitment to deliver quality housing across the North of England.
Nicola Bruce of Auxesia Homes commented: “As Auxesia Homes expands its portfolio across the North and Midlands, developments including Hazel typify our ongoing commitment to providing homes that meet local needs and make a tangible difference to people’s lives.”
Delivering Through Section 106
These homes at the Hazel development are being delivered through Section 106 agreements, which ensure that a proportion of new developments are dedicated to affordable housing. This model helps maintain balanced, sustainable communities by providing opportunities for people who might otherwise struggle to access quality new build homes in desirable locations.
